PROFILE

Me St-Jacques is an emeritus lawyer (Ad. E.) and practices criminal, penal and disciplinary law. He regularly appears before all trial and appeal courts, as well as before the disciplinary committees of professional orders. In recent years, he has acted in nine cases at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Me St-Jacques has extensive experience in all areas of criminal and penal law and has been involved in a wide range of mega-trials.

He has acquired solid expertise in economic crimes. He also has a master's degree in business law and previously worked in a large national business and litigation law firm.

Me St-Jacques a lecturer at the University of Quebec in Montreal for the course in applied legal activities . In addition, he is often part of the coaching team for the George A. Gale Moot Court Competition.

Me St-Jacques has authored several publications and acts as a speaker for associations of defence lawyers, criminal and penal prosecutors as well as for the Judicial Council of Quebec.

He served for nine years as a member of the board of directors of the Élizabeth Fry Society of Quebec, a non-profit organization assisting women in difficulty with the criminal justice system. He is also vice-president of Project Innocence Quebec, an organization helping victims of a miscarriage of justice, mainly in murder cases.
