PROFILE
Me Christian Desrosiers practices in the areas of criminal and penal law; since 1974 and has worked in private practice since 1982.
During these years, Me Desrosiers has acquired considerable experience in a range of very diverse cases. However, he is a leader in economic crimes, wiretapping and search warrants, impairment, crimes of a sexual nature, as well as disciplinary law.
Me Desrosiers has pleaded countless times before all courts, including the Quebec Court of Appeal, as well as a myriad of times before the Supreme Court of Canada. He also has significant experience in jury trials in murder cases.
He has also defended important legal principles at the Supreme Court of Canada, notably in matters of the right to provisional release (Morales and Pearson cases), obscenity (parameters of swingers clubs), error caused by a person in authority (“officially induced error”), blocking orders and the rights of third parties relating to wiretapping.
Me Desrosiers was president of the Association of Defense Lawyers of Montreal (AADM) for 4 years. He was also a teacher at the École du Barreau du Québec and a speaker on criminal law at various events.
